Christmas is near

I have wasted a little time watching TV. You know I will be honest, Im not really sure what I am doing out here right now. I know I came out to be an actor, but how am I spending my time right now that translates to that, I'm not even sure it does, well at the very least at least I have made it out here and have started doing my thing. I just need to wake up from this slump and let eric be eric again. Do the best I can, be happy, thats what I do best. Still havent gotten to a play yet, movies are too expensive to be wasting money on right now. Sherlock Holmes was good though. Night

Got a job today with security but think I may need to decline because of driving purpose. I have hit up alot of places around the area, when I say a lot i mean quite a few, probably 10-15 aiming high so in the grandscheme thats really not a whole lot. But I have also filled out quite a few apps and sent them in for security jobs. My soccer job has been pretty slow latley but I changed my hours so hopefully I am freed up for more extra work but also have more availability within my soccer days. I got a class this saturday that I can walk to from my complex so thats nice. Ive noticed myself saying the words grandscheme and ballpark every once in a while since I have been out here, looks like I brought my uncle Bill with me. Tom Waits came out with a new album, I think its awesome I havent had a whole lot of time to listen to it yet but it sounds very promising so far, good lyrics as anyways. You know Im thinking that i need to pick up the guitar a little more, I would like to get a little better maybe start to work on some finger picking and expand my library of songs i can play, maybe write some of my own. You know I also started watching Friday Night Lights I really think thats a good show, so far I have only seen the pilot. I helped out at a shoe giving yesterday to families in need and the people seemed very greatful, thankful for everyones help and the program thats there. We didnt have any plays this week or improv classes because of the thanksgiving week. This was a goodweek to not have anything like that going on just kind of reflect on whats important and trying to keep God at the top of my life. I have found that I have lost my touch with people a little bit, or maybe rather Im finding it, but I think Im ready to tap into what I have here and the people around me. I also want to start working 0n a short or a stand up bit or something like that. I think I have materail in my head its just a matter of getting it down on paper or word document or whatever means.

Late Night

3 chapters into the hunger games. Listening to Tom Waits. Having thanksgiving at Taylors. Running out of money. Skyped with Jeff. Need to talk to Bradley at somepoint. Help me God haha. You dont meet nice girls in coffee shops. Get a job save your money, Everybodys talking at the same time. You get to be king of the glove department or the fish bowl and then you have to find it again. haha is this nonsense.

Would like to just go to coffee instead?

Today I called down to the grove and let them know I got my guard card and luckily I called the head of public safety, so crossing my fingers for a call back on that. It would be nice to get a really steady job to help pay the bills, then I could scrape by a little better. I met a lady in the laundry room yesterday who moved here from Ohio in 1968. Thought shed have a better chance out here because black people werent respected or given as much of a chance as white men even if they had degrees back then. She told me not to get to caught up in the acting game and wanting to be famous, because most the people in the game that present themselves that way dont really have anything, or something like that. I still need to put a reel together and have been submitting to stuff through La casting. I might try and go to an open casting call with a talent agency tomorrow its run by an agent named Daniel Hoff who I have heard of a few times on set now and sounds legit. I was thinking about doing some stand up on pyramid schemes. I think I might wait for my next paycheck coming in before i purchase my surfboard, shoot. Ill atleast keep looking on it and checking my money situation. Ah boy, just thought Id make myself blog, its been awhile I guess. Might hit up an AFI film festival movie before improv class tonight. Maybe I should be applying for more jobs around the area and such, the guard jobs not guaranteed, i might not get a call until christmas or something like that. Ive also would like to look into a ping pong league, I believe I have heard my neighbors, so they must either be playing ping pong or beer pong, either way it sounds like fun. Lindsay Lohan hasnt been spotted in the area yet, so my hopes of taking her home for thansgiving or christmas arent looking up, but you never no when I might run into her, my uncle Mike is depending on me. O man what a confusing life, i keep forgetting to eat, although I really dont want to spend a dime, i dont have that many dimes, well more than i probably think it just doesnt seem like it. Im sure i have more to write, more on my mind, but we will peace out for now, peace out.

Yup

Today I did background work for the blood and guts production web series and show hillstone, it was alright. As funds begin depleting im thinking i will need to get a second job, but dont feel any calling my name in this area if that makes any sense. Met a few people who have been involved in security and food running so im just looking for hiring signs. I suppose I could look for some jobs when i go audition for what i think is a student film on the movie superbad on monday at usc. Im feeling pretty dull, need to get out of the house. Havent written anything in awhile, havent memorized any of my lines for my new play.

Hey Blog its Eric. Today I had play practice and auditioned for a student film at USC. Although I believe I did decent I was not thrilled about being at the audition by any means but it was cool just to be on the campus, maybe I should go to USC, or just get a part time job there or something, pretty cool campus. I was an extra on the show parks and rec that was pretty awesome got to hang out with some cool extras all day. This week I got some soccer action on Wednesday and will probably keep calling central casting to get some extra parts, I have thought about possibly trying to get a couple more extra jobs to keep hustlin. I should probs apply for some stuff on la casting too. I need to do laundry. Thought maybe it would be cool to be a page at CBS or something. I have also been thinking about taking some improv classes that I would have to pay for or would continue going to the free monkey butler improv classes. Caught up with my boy JHardcastle tonight that was awesome. Got to do what you go to do to stay alive. Im realizing im the one who wanted to move out here, so I got to do what I got to do to keep going, to hold up funds to make sure to be able to afford rent and do all the things that I want to do. Grandma Hazels got my back, and God, I know I can do it. Found a church today that i thought was pretty cool, its on my potential list of joining. I need to break out of my shell a little bit here still. Keep meeting people and embracing the new. Its been tough for me to open up, but, Im sure it will happen. I dont always write thoughts like that on my blog, Ive been doing more like the day synopsis drill for awhile, maybe I should get a journal, I dont know who all reads this. Its good to be in this city, Im excited to get out there and get after it.

Dude abides

This weekend I went to Lebowski fest with my cousin Shane Thomas Kirkland. It was bad ass. I got to see a speech given by the real dude, Jesus bowling partner, and saw a burlesque show performed by the wonderfull Itty Bitty Bang Bang. White russians were $10 dollars so i kept it and one and had a dudes rug for $8 bucks. There were some people that dressed up real great. It was an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many avid achievers who practicly quoted the whole movie the entire time. The fans consisted of guys who dressed up to dress up and just follow the show around. I met a guy who went to the festival in Kentucky, I believe this was his second fest and he wants to make it a bigger priority and more of a lifetime commitment. Its a grievous ill to say I am typing this right now while the bowling party has already began but I was at the beach all day and am bushed. The real little larry was there, wow. They had all the actual costumes from the movie on display, everything from Walters vest to the Nihilists girlfriend but and toe cut off. The check out girl from clerks was there and that was hillarious, there was a lot of stonewalling mentioned in the speeches. Its even become a religion, literally, they have created dudeism and said a prayer before the event. What a wonderful way to spend a night, with so many avid achievers. I talked to someone tonight to say that there are other Lebowski gatherings that go on around the city all the time, I look forward to partaking. Real tired, should prob go to bed, have an audition at next stage theatre tomorrow.
