Full Circle

Yo blog! wassup! I haven't been on here in awhile, it occurred to me I should maybe try to write something to you.  I was in the middle of working on my computer at a Starbucks and a homeless dude came in and shouted at all the employees, that lasted about 10 seconds. I was braced to get up and help out just in case he got violent, which, is obviously a mistake.  Anyway he left and I was like yup, Los Angeles is still pretty friggen weird. Anyway, I got to do some traveling home earlier this summer to see my family, saw them for about 2 weeks it was a blast.  Got some good time with my aunt and uncles family and there dog in Sioux falls and I also got to meet up with my college friends in Sioux falls and then headed up to rush lake Minnesota to spend a week with my whole family, parents, grandparents, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, everybody was there, and then we had a week back in Sioux falls with all of my family that lives there.  It was good times to be had by all.  Did it all from knee boarding, to fishing, an outing to zorbaz, and also about 6 incredible home made meals every single night, even got my aunt to make her special Curry, one of my favorite dishes.  Also had one of my best golf games and had a lot of fun Frisbee golfing as well.  It was fun, and very refreshing change of pace from Los Ang.  It feels good to be back as well, ive had somewhat productive days and attended a friends house warming party on Saturday, that was pretty damn fun, actually hung out with the same friend that I mention in my last blog, Ray Gray is the nickname I give her, anyway her new place is pretty dope and the party was a winner, lots of cool peeps there.  Anyway, so as September approaches I'm hoping the auditions will ramp up a little bit and I'm trying to plug away and work on my own projects as well.  Super cool news, my visa Olympic commercial I shot awhile back aired while I was home, heres a picture that some of my facebook friends where posting on my feed pretty cool.  I feel very thankful that I got to be a part of the project.   Oh and also I didn't get skunked this year at lake I caught a decent size northern, I still like fishing, it was fun to get out a few times I still find enjoyment in it, will have to find a way to fish out here.  But this is probably a pretty good place to end the blog. I'll keep plugging away and keep you all updated, ill try to blog a little more than I have been, I enjoyed doing this one, until next time, the dude abides.

Blogging

So blog, its been awhile, how about an update.  This last week or two I would say the theme of my weeks has been Bill Murray.  I watched part of this interview where he talks about a wish that he has, and his wish is to become more here, more available, and not wanting to not have so much automatic response syndrome, but rather become his own channel in his body and his mind.  I like the idea of this, I don't really know exactly what it means, I assume it means to become more focused perhaps, that doesn't nail it down but I think if I talked in full what that meant to me it would take forever. I'll link that part of the interview at the end of the blog if anyone is interested.  The audition track has had its ups and downs like usual in terms of how many I get, not in terms of the outcome, what I've learned and have attempted to embrace is that outcome is not so important but rather just doing the best work you can in the moment is what is important.  I sprained my ankle for the first time in my life about a week ago, right around my birthday, I'm 27 now woo hoo!  I don't know if it was my first sprain but it was at least my first serious sprain, although I do suffer from trying to be a tough man syndrome so I wouldn't be surprised if I ignored an injury or two.  It hasn't been all bad, makes you slow down, and focus on what's important, there's a positive in every situation.  My friend Brad is visiting at the end of the month and I may have more visitors after that hasn't been nailed down yet.  This last weekend I went out for a friends birthday, Rachel also known as Ray Gray, we went to Booty LA, it was costume night, and a super cool dance hall, which was also sort of a drag queen night/strip club, it was all sorts of cool haha.  I went as Lenny Kravitz.  I didn't get any pictures I guess I was to in the moment.  It was good to update you blog, until next time.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everybody! Kind of a random time to write a blog perhaps, but I have a lot on my mind and feel like writing.  I don't know if I can put that writing into material right now so I'm going to try to blog it here.  This years been good so far on the business side, pleased with a lot of the acting stuff that's going on in my life, I'm riding the waves and enjoying. Got my place nice and organized this week as well and aim to continue to keep it that way, may even try to declutter and get rid of a few things will see.  I'm trying to put myself in a state and place where I can be as creative as I possibly can be.  John Goodman was great in Cloverfield, the way he played that role, some of his facial expressions, the subtleties the fun in it man he was amazing.  He is easily one of my top 5 favorite actors, there are so many actors I admire but I really respect him, I read some article on him that says he may be one of the best supporting actors of all time.  I was listening to an old Howard Stern interview with him where he mentions when he used to audition he was actually better at cold reading then memorizing material.  Anyway, I know there's not a lot to this blog but I will be checking in again sometime soon and will update with pictures of what I've been doing so far in 2016.

Getting After It

Alright blog, I haven't been here in awhile and it has occurred to me to blog.  Well this week was awesome I got to work multiple days on great paying acting gigs. I got to work with some awesome people, I met about 6 or 7 people who are hustling just like me this week.  It was awesome, and everyone indulged in my Seth Rogen impression.  It was really interesting one of the girls I worked with was a dialect coach as well, I'm meeting people on these gigs that I have so much to learn from and more importantly just enjoy being around.  Very fortunate and lucky to start off the year with 2 days of work on only like my 3rd or 4th audition so far. Now I'm hoping to kick off my theatrical side into gear, I got a callback to be a series regular on a pilot in the fall and feel confident about my ability to perform in the room and think I will eventually land something.  On second day of shooting I met a guy who was also represented by KMR and he said hes been making a living off of commercial and film work for 20 years, he's originally from Oklahoma.  My agents are rock stars.  What else?...let me think..  well obviously dear lord every time your on set for the most part the food is just glorious,  it will take a concerted effort in the gym and good eating to regain some of that back haha.  But it will be an effort that is well worth it.  I prefer to work my goal is to keep booking and pushing forward and creating my own opportunities and endeavors for myself.  I've found a new actor to look up to, and that's Chris Pratt.  He's got a cool story and has worked very hard to get where he is and his motto was basically just to stay incredibly positive and pursue opportunity even though he had very little.  I got to be around him once in 2011 when I first moved out here, and he was very positive and talked to everyone around him and really hammed it up, I hope to be like that one day.
