Christmas is near

I have wasted a little time watching TV. You know I will be honest, Im not really sure what I am doing out here right now. I know I came out to be an actor, but how am I spending my time right now that translates to that, I'm not even sure it does, well at the very least at least I have made it out here and have started doing my thing. I just need to wake up from this slump and let eric be eric again. Do the best I can, be happy, thats what I do best. Still havent gotten to a play yet, movies are too expensive to be wasting money on right now. Sherlock Holmes was good though. Night

Got a job today with security but think I may need to decline because of driving purpose. I have hit up alot of places around the area, when I say a lot i mean quite a few, probably 10-15 aiming high so in the grandscheme thats really not a whole lot. But I have also filled out quite a few apps and sent them in for security jobs. My soccer job has been pretty slow latley but I changed my hours so hopefully I am freed up for more extra work but also have more availability within my soccer days. I got a class this saturday that I can walk to from my complex so thats nice. Ive noticed myself saying the words grandscheme and ballpark every once in a while since I have been out here, looks like I brought my uncle Bill with me. Tom Waits came out with a new album, I think its awesome I havent had a whole lot of time to listen to it yet but it sounds very promising so far, good lyrics as anyways. You know Im thinking that i need to pick up the guitar a little more, I would like to get a little better maybe start to work on some finger picking and expand my library of songs i can play, maybe write some of my own. You know I also started watching Friday Night Lights I really think thats a good show, so far I have only seen the pilot. I helped out at a shoe giving yesterday to families in need and the people seemed very greatful, thankful for everyones help and the program thats there. We didnt have any plays this week or improv classes because of the thanksgiving week. This was a goodweek to not have anything like that going on just kind of reflect on whats important and trying to keep God at the top of my life. I have found that I have lost my touch with people a little bit, or maybe rather Im finding it, but I think Im ready to tap into what I have here and the people around me. I also want to start working 0n a short or a stand up bit or something like that. I think I have materail in my head its just a matter of getting it down on paper or word document or whatever means.

Late Night

3 chapters into the hunger games. Listening to Tom Waits. Having thanksgiving at Taylors. Running out of money. Skyped with Jeff. Need to talk to Bradley at somepoint. Help me God haha. You dont meet nice girls in coffee shops. Get a job save your money, Everybodys talking at the same time. You get to be king of the glove department or the fish bowl and then you have to find it again. haha is this nonsense.

Today I called down to the grove and let them know I got my guard card and luckily I called the head of public safety, so crossing my fingers for a call back on that. It would be nice to get a really steady job to help pay the bills, then I could scrape by a little better. I met a lady in the laundry room yesterday who moved here from Ohio in 1968. Thought shed have a better chance out here because black people werent respected or given as much of a chance as white men even if they had degrees back then. She told me not to get to caught up in the acting game and wanting to be famous, because most the people in the game that present themselves that way dont really have anything, or something like that. I still need to put a reel together and have been submitting to stuff through La casting. I might try and go to an open casting call with a talent agency tomorrow its run by an agent named Daniel Hoff who I have heard of a few times on set now and sounds legit. I was thinking about doing some stand up on pyramid schemes. I think I might wait for my next paycheck coming in before i purchase my surfboard, shoot. Ill atleast keep looking on it and checking my money situation. Ah boy, just thought Id make myself blog, its been awhile I guess. Might hit up an AFI film festival movie before improv class tonight. Maybe I should be applying for more jobs around the area and such, the guard jobs not guaranteed, i might not get a call until christmas or something like that. Ive also would like to look into a ping pong league, I believe I have heard my neighbors, so they must either be playing ping pong or beer pong, either way it sounds like fun. Lindsay Lohan hasnt been spotted in the area yet, so my hopes of taking her home for thansgiving or christmas arent looking up, but you never no when I might run into her, my uncle Mike is depending on me. O man what a confusing life, i keep forgetting to eat, although I really dont want to spend a dime, i dont have that many dimes, well more than i probably think it just doesnt seem like it. Im sure i have more to write, more on my mind, but we will peace out for now, peace out.

Yup

Today I did background work for the blood and guts production web series and show hillstone, it was alright. As funds begin depleting im thinking i will need to get a second job, but dont feel any calling my name in this area if that makes any sense. Met a few people who have been involved in security and food running so im just looking for hiring signs. I suppose I could look for some jobs when i go audition for what i think is a student film on the movie superbad on monday at usc. Im feeling pretty dull, need to get out of the house. Havent written anything in awhile, havent memorized any of my lines for my new play.

Hey Blog its Eric. Today I had play practice and auditioned for a student film at USC. Although I believe I did decent I was not thrilled about being at the audition by any means but it was cool just to be on the campus, maybe I should go to USC, or just get a part time job there or something, pretty cool campus. I was an extra on the show parks and rec that was pretty awesome got to hang out with some cool extras all day. This week I got some soccer action on Wednesday and will probably keep calling central casting to get some extra parts, I have thought about possibly trying to get a couple more extra jobs to keep hustlin. I should probs apply for some stuff on la casting too. I need to do laundry. Thought maybe it would be cool to be a page at CBS or something. I have also been thinking about taking some improv classes that I would have to pay for or would continue going to the free monkey butler improv classes. Caught up with my boy JHardcastle tonight that was awesome. Got to do what you go to do to stay alive. Im realizing im the one who wanted to move out here, so I got to do what I got to do to keep going, to hold up funds to make sure to be able to afford rent and do all the things that I want to do. Grandma Hazels got my back, and God, I know I can do it. Found a church today that i thought was pretty cool, its on my potential list of joining. I need to break out of my shell a little bit here still. Keep meeting people and embracing the new. Its been tough for me to open up, but, Im sure it will happen. I dont always write thoughts like that on my blog, Ive been doing more like the day synopsis drill for awhile, maybe I should get a journal, I dont know who all reads this. Its good to be in this city, Im excited to get out there and get after it.

Dude abides

This weekend I went to Lebowski fest with my cousin Shane Thomas Kirkland. It was bad ass. I got to see a speech given by the real dude, Jesus bowling partner, and saw a burlesque show performed by the wonderfull Itty Bitty Bang Bang. White russians were $10 dollars so i kept it and one and had a dudes rug for $8 bucks. There were some people that dressed up real great. It was an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many avid achievers who practicly quoted the whole movie the entire time. The fans consisted of guys who dressed up to dress up and just follow the show around. I met a guy who went to the festival in Kentucky, I believe this was his second fest and he wants to make it a bigger priority and more of a lifetime commitment. Its a grievous ill to say I am typing this right now while the bowling party has already began but I was at the beach all day and am bushed. The real little larry was there, wow. They had all the actual costumes from the movie on display, everything from Walters vest to the Nihilists girlfriend but and toe cut off. The check out girl from clerks was there and that was hillarious, there was a lot of stonewalling mentioned in the speeches. Its even become a religion, literally, they have created dudeism and said a prayer before the event. What a wonderful way to spend a night, with so many avid achievers. I talked to someone tonight to say that there are other Lebowski gatherings that go on around the city all the time, I look forward to partaking. Real tired, should prob go to bed, have an audition at next stage theatre tomorrow.

I got to coach soccer at a really nice house in Bel-air yesterday. My Head coachs name yesterday was Josh,he was really nice and said his girlfriend was an actress and that she had taken some different improv classes with the ucb. After that my gps system bugged out on the way to my next stop for soccer and i had to use my phone. Got lost and was a little late for our training session, but they said no problem your new to the area its going to take some time. I wont count on getting to use that as an excuse anymore I just need to plan things out a little better instead of last second. I believe I will probably teach again on saturday and continue to do some training. Today Im going to get a toaster. My cousin is in the entertainment business up here and is hooking me up with a free build your own acting page up here so thats pretty cool. I need to get a little more active, a little much sitting around.

So. I got my headshots printed off today. Submitted for acting jobs. Bought grocerys. Saw tons and tons of theatres in the valley wow. My first short film was pretty fun and i met a girl named kat who lives in park la brea so that was pretty sweet. Pretty lazy day ya. PEace

So today I got that soccer job, will be working 2-6 on weekdays and am free on saturday which should leave me time to audition in the morning and maybe do improv stuff at night. Still need to print off my headshots and resumes. I dont today was crazy, missing home a little bit.

Los Ange

Tomorrow I have an interview at 10 in the morning with the soccer guys. I had my phone interview and i made it to the next level so thats great! Bringing Matt to get his car at 12. I am signed up with L.A. casting and need to get copies of my resume and picture printed. I still need to work on my resume but my pictures are all good. I got a role in a movie on sunday with my new friend Ricks girlfriend. Apparently I am an extra with lines and will be making fun of a hobo. Today I kind of wasted the day. Didnt make a whole lot of progress and just kind of sat around really. Well besides all the walking and going places i did but all in all it didnt amount to much. Id like to get out to the beach again. Im still getting settled in but need to enjoy myself a little bit. I still havent been to these great shakespeare plays they have out here. I am considering signing for improv classes either at io west or second city, or ucb, there like 300 dollars for 1 class per week, 7 weeks. I am also interested in doing some stand up comedy or something like that. I watched alot of Zach Galifinikas today, anyway. My cousin Shane is up here and I have gotten to hang out with him a few times. We have been joking around about how we look like Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon Levitt in the movie 50/50 coming out. Im Black Rogen. Lots of people have told me I look like the black or really tan Seth Rogen since I have been here, I looked up Seth Rogen and his favorite movie is the big lebowski, random connection, moving on. I tried to do my senior colloqium based on random connections and it really bombed, meaning sucked. Where am I, o ya Los Ang. Im thinking about hustling a little more, doing some clinical studies or finding some super random part time jobs. I have a connection with a security guard job down at the grove and applied for a job, maybe get the graveyard shift. I dont think they will give me a gun. haha o well, we shall see. Its nice to have pictures back. Meeting with background agency on the 26th. Applying for random student films, commercials and reality shows until then

Today was a good day. Woke up quick at about noon. Applied for a couple jobs today. Got a couple call backs about a soccer job and a pilot questionarre job. While not having landed anything yet, that was nice. I have yet to surf and that is my only real downfall right now. Tonight Taylor and I attended Monkey Butler improv which was pretty good and definetly kept me on my toes. There was some really cool people there, it was good to get out there and be involved in some community. Taylor and I had Sushi for lunch, which we got from a pretty cool looking place called traders joe, we agreed that the sushi was so-so, how could can it be coming out of a tubber-ware container. We stopped and visited Heidi at the Dream center where she works with the women shelter. I guess Lindsay Lohan has worked there before, so I am getting closer to bringing her home for thanksgiving. Got my first glimpse of the staples center. Im waiting on my pictures to come back so I can sign up with L.A. casting. Going to drews improv show tomorrow night. Well Night blog, Im out! PEeeeaches!

L.A

Today I found U.S bank unfortunatley it was closed so I could not get my check book. Then I applied for a job at chipotle. I thIink I will apply for a job at the movie theatre at the grove and I sort of applied for a soccer job via email from some guy Tay knows. I went to Venice beach to my cousin Shane today and that was pretty awesome fightin the waves, the ocean is beautiful, I like to watch it trickle at the top of the sand towards shore. Went to the grove, checked out some places around my area and some shops it was pretty sweet, so, ya. Goin to church wit Tay tom, Im kind of excited for that. I have found that driving kind of sucks, and you have to plan stuff out a little bit haha. Me plans, thats new. Ya well Im looking forward to getting a job or some jobs and have an appointment with central casting late in sept to do some background work. Im working on contacting an image consultant but its kind of a pain in the but to figure out how to actually get a hold of them or find their email. The goal is to keep moving forward i suppose. To tired to keep writing. NIght

Been playin with kids all summer, I got no idea whats going on, feelin like i have no place to go, real tired though probably just bed time. I got a call back to this company, but they seem like dickheads, I dont know if I want to be associated with them. Im undercover Im in the closet. What to do. But maybe thats just a bad ass attitude and a hello to the real world. I want to do more with LEbowski. NIght

I am contemplating between visions in the current time and what that means to me. There so many things that I know are to come, and whether I will be there or not does not really matter to me. All I know is experience is the only thing that exists. I can think and assert true and false projectiles of my mind based on my assumptions about why I have created them, but this only leads to shallow thinking, and the byproduct is assumption. Do what your heart leads you too. Amen
