Schmucks

Morning! woke up and had a 75 cent bagel around the corner in the west village here...Jordin and I called were called a schmuck and spit on by a man on a bike who demanded we give him money. Saw washington square park, Grand central, central park, the place were John Lennon was shot(Dakota). My favorite part of the day was going to drama bookstore in time square, bought a scrypt called exonerated, plan to go back! Headed to Broadway christ church served the less fortunate food, you wouldnt have known it by the smiles on there faces. We ate at the diner with the pastor Travis, who is originally from USF. We talked about today, and his life, and the careers we wanted to pursue. This day was my favorite church experience yet. We met a guy named Tom who had some interesting stories, and one of a very religous muslim who worked outside the church in a stand and sold bagels, food and such. He always has a smile on his face, and has all ethnicities and different kinds of people that come to his town, from this he knows the condition of the city and his area well. He shut his store down for awhile to go the hajj, to worship his God, the whole community knew him and was very excited for him. Love and acceptance has set my heart on fire today, nyc is a good place. Later that night we saw Asphalt Orchestra. I really enjoyed the beat, they moved around the room and interacted with the audience during the show. After that we stopped by rockefellar and then dragged our butts home. We did a ton of stuff today, it rocked.....goodnight blog, i love you!

  1. Eric, I am so excited that you included Tom's story of the Muslim man who sold breakfast items outside of Broadway Church of Christ. Tom said he did more for religion than anyone in the church - he ministered to all by a)serving his immediate community b)continuing his faith walk publicly and sharing his growth enthusiastically with everyone in his path. I too loved this reminder.
